DELMER & MARTA – EXCLUSIVE YOUTUBE WEBSERIES FROM APTN LAUNCHING NOVEMBER 12, 2015

DELMER & MARTA – EXCLUSIVE YOUTUBE WEBSERIES FROM APTN LAUNCHING NOVEMBER 12, 2015

WINNIPEG, Monday, November 9, 2015 – Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) and Mosaic Entertainment announce a new comedy webseries, Delmer & Marta. The complete exclusive webseries will be available November 12th, 2015 on the Delmer & Marta YouTube channel. This 12-part sneak peek is just the beginning of Delmer & Marta. The webseries will give fans a taste of what to expect when the half-hour broadcast series premieres on APTN in 2016.

“We fell in love with the characters Delmer and Marta during production of our sketch comedy, CAUTION: May Contain Nuts,” said Camille Beaudoin, Chief Creative Officer of Mosaic Entertainment. “We knew that Sheldon Elter (Delmer) and Howie Miller (Marta) were something special and APTN agreed. So we set course to develop an all-original show around them. A series that the whole family could enjoy. Both Howie and Sheldon were a major part of creating and writing the series along with (CAUTION: May Contain Nuts Showrunner) Matt Alden, which gave it the perfect tone of relatable organic humour.”

Happy couple, Delmer and Marta, has relocated from the Rez to the “Big City” of Morningside, Alberta (pop. 40,000) and are adjusting to their new lives in the heart of the close-knit prairie community.  Marta, at the insistence of the network, is hired as the new host of the community station’s morning show Good Morning Morningside, much to the chagrin of the team headed by Station Manager, Creston (Kevin McDonald, The Kids in the Hall). Delmer makes fast friends with neighbour Tom (Shaun Johnston, Heartland), and learns quickly to never mention Tom’s ex-wife.  Marta finds her calling as a TV host, and while not technically employed by the station, Delmer finds plenty to do “helping” the Good Morning Morningside team any way he can.

APTN is pleased to be piloting a new distribution model with Delmer & Marta.  “In the ever-changing media environment, APTN is exploring new and different ways to connect with audiences. We will launch Delmer & Marta with 12 webisodes in November 2015, and in early 2016, offer fans a robust transmedia experience to support the television broadcast,” said Monika Ille, Executive Director of Programming and Scheduling, APTN.
