You are invited to the Global First Nations Carbon Summit happening on Treaty 4 Territory, in Regina Saskatchewan on Monday October 3rd, 2022.
The Summit will include a series of high-powered speakers featuring topics on carbon reduction strategies, the role of First Nations in the carbon economy, and the importance of First Nations environmental sovereignty.
The joining of these concepts is the basis of “Indigenomics”, which sets to return First Nations to access a modern economy while maintaining a traditional way of life.
The event is expected to host 100 individuals in person with an additional 500 on-line. Attendees will range from Chief and Council, Economic Development officers and businesses interested in learning more about the trends and opportunities in the carbon economy. The audience will be primarily Canadian but will include participants from the US and Europe.
The event will be anchored in a keynote address by Canada’s Ambassador to the UN, The Honourable Bob Rae, who will speak to the global trends in climate change and the economic opportunities emerging.
The remaining speakers will speak on topics ranging from the economic opportunities attached to the carbon economy, ESG trends, and the long-term future of the carbon market.
The desire of the event is to increase the knowledge about Carbon and how it can fit into business plans and strategies and encourage participation from all those involved to engage in the carbon economy.
