2 Rivers Remix Society, Full Circle: First Nations’ Performance, Savage Production Society & Vines Art Festival
(Vancouver, BC) VirtualFeast.ca is a new Indigenous-led online platform to highlight and support the online streaming of contemporary Indigenous performances in the Summer of COVID-19. VirtualFeast.ca provides a single point of reference and discovery for audiences tuned into the burgeoning BC Indigenous music scene.
At launch, VirtualFeast.ca has confirmed over 40 different Indigenous performers, including Kinnie Starr & Snotty Nose Rez Kids, over the next two months from emerging youth to musical elders in a wide variety of genres: folk to funk, hip-hop to house, pop to rock. These artists reflect the diversity of Indian Country – rural and urban – with approximately half being women, one-quarter youth and one-tenth 2 Spirit.
VirtualFeast.ca is a collaborative project of BC Indigenous arts presenters including: 2 Rivers Remix Society, Savage Production Society, Full Circle: First Nations’ Performance, and the Vine Arts Festival – with streaming platform support from the First Peoples’ Cultural Council.
