Job title: Researcher, CBC Music – Toronto
This role described below is part of CBC’s CAPE program which is specifically for people with disabilities*. CAPE is a six month paid placement program that aims to kick-start the careers of people with disabilities, eliminate barriers to employment, showcase individual talents and generate more discussion, learning and content related to disability, accessibility and inclusion.
The program will run from January 15 to June 28, 2024.
What do you need to be eligible?

Your role and how you will make an impact:
CBC Music, home of the most relevant and engaging stories and voices in Canadian music today, is looking for an Associate Producer for our national radio service. CBC Music’s national radio service is dedicated to championing music in a variety of genres and styles. We specialize in both new and emerging music as well as classical and classic.
In this role, you will be helping ensure our commitment to presenting music is held to the highest standard by providing information and context to the music we program.
Working under the direction and supervision of the Executive Producer, CBC Music Daytime, you will be responsible for gathering background information relevant to the artists and new tracks that we program.
We are looking for a curious individual who is committed to answering the questions our hosts need answered for accurately presenting artists to our audience.
If you are passionate and curious about music and music makers of Canada, and you enjoy fact finding through research and outreach, then this could be the ideal job for you.
Key Tasks:
Research – add additional metadata to our music catalog through research and outreach, specifically release dates & pronunciation guides.
Data entry.
Assist with database comparison; find the differences in metadata and correct them.
Qualifications – External

Sharp attention to detail.
An ability to research a large amount of material.
A determination to exhaust all avenues until you have found the ‘correct’ answer.
