15 hrs weekly @ 23$/hr

We are hiring for the Mino Collective – an independent, grassroots group of young Indigenous people working together to solve health inequities that disproportionately affect our community. Using technology and media, we want to make existing opportunities in Toronto more accessible to community and create new opportunities where there are gaps. As the Social Media + Communications Coordinator, you will be using our website and social media as a tool to effectively deliver content to our communities.

What you will do:

  • Work with the team to design a social media strategy that promotes the Mino Collective to the Indigenous community in the GTA
  • Manage Mino Collective blog and website
  • Plan, edit, and share weekly content (original text, images, video or HTML)
  • Coordinate social media calendars and schedules
  • Compile social data and metrics monthly for all SM/Website
  • Engage and respond to inquiries from community via social media channels
  • Collaborate with graphic designer for event promotions and marketing
  • Design best practices + communications guidelines for Mino Collective

You may be a good fit for this role if you:

  • Are experienced in social media engagement and/or digital marketing
  • Have excellent email and instant messaging communication skills
  • Possess strong writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Have strong organizational skills, including time management and multitasking
  • Are familiar with using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

The environment: Our group is based out of Toronto, ON. As a team member you will be working closely with young Indigenous folks as they provide leadership on several projects within the city.
