David & Monique were once lovers who made promise to each other that were meant to be kept. Monique sure thought so. David wanted too, but also had another dream. Fifteen years later they are in a garden trying to find out what went wrong. Can they get back to love!
Just For A Moment is the story Of David Phillips an aspiring painter who leaves his Island home and His fiancée Monique Wilson and travel to Toronto to follow his dream of becoming a world Renown Painter. He arrives in the cold North with a pocketful of dreams and a head full of hope.
Soon the reality of North American life hits him and he struggle to make ends meet.
In his despair he fails to keep in touch with Monique, citing that he could not find the words to explain his predicament.
15 years has passed and he is home with his first art exhibition and a burning desire to see Monique.

Playing the roles of David and Monique are two of Toronto finest Thespians.
David Philips is played by Rais Muoi . Born in Nairobi Kenya. Muoi has practiced theatre throughout his life, embracing the tenets of African Theatre Storytelling, music, dance, poetry clown and more.
He has graced the Toronto stage in many productions including: I Marcus Garvey, he played multiple roles in that production. He also appeared as a soldier in Obsidian’s theatre production Of Ruined at Canstage. He was a member of the cast of Expect Theatres’ production Awake at the Toronto Fringe and Next Stage Festivals. Muoi also spent some time working as the Artistic Director of The African Theatre Ensemble.
Nawa Nicole Simon is a Dora Nominated Actress who has been seen on the Toronto stage in many productions including Little Red Theatre Production of Darkness And The Butterfly and Tales Of Anansi and the Spider. Hart House The Whole Dip. She performed In Umoja at the Elgin Theatre. Danced with Can Afric Theatre in Quebec City. She has toured with Mixed Company Theatre and Expect Theatre. Worked with Mad Science Production in Florida. She was nominated for a Dora for her work in New Harlem Theatre Production Gas Girls.
Things Falling Apart Theatre was created in 2013 and had its’ inaugural production The Session Written and Directed by Tien Providence and Featuring Joella Crichton in November of that year. Things Falling Apart is theatre company is a collaborative of artists who want produce works of African Caribbean Canadian writers who are looking to populate the stages across Toronto and beyond. The Founders include Malinda Francis and Tien Providence.
Malinda Francis is a experience in the art includes primarily a filmmaker, editor, and radio host. Her First aim is to collaborate with as many artists, musicians, djs, alternative, educators, community builders that is physically possible, and her second aim is to create and build new collaborative and collective structures to better enable independent artists to work and profit together off there own work, her aim is to support independent art across disciplines
Tien Providence has worked and produced theatre since moving to Ontario Canada in the 90’s. He has worked within the Caribbean community and specifically with The St Vincent Cultural group; Writing Directing and producing many of their theatrical community projects, as well as covering the Theatre scene on his radio show Stage Left on Radio Regent.
Folasade Akintola – Stage Manager
Sade was born in London England and later moved to Birmingham with her family. With a background in Sociology Sade spent a year working for a Charity that rehoused homeless people with drug addictions.
While growing up in Birmingham Sade’s love for the arts grew as she became involved with a few amateur church performances where she had the chance to be centre stage. Through this she became passionate about music and taught herself to play the guitar.
After recently moving to Toronto with her sister she has stayed close to the things she loves and works in a music store. Sade is new to working in Theatre and is really excited to be a part of this project with Things Falling Apart Theatre Company celebrating African Caribbean theatre.
Walter Elliot – Set Designer
Walter is a former Dancer and Performer with Black Theatre Montreal. He has been a long time mas camp costumer designer. He has been a theatre set designer at Luther Hansaraj Theatre Productions for the production of “Just For a Moment”. He works with TDSB as an educator, and he works at the Bay as a Window Dresser. He is the Set Designer for Things For A Moment Feb-25-March 6th 2016.
Tyrone MacLean-Wilson – Graphic Designer
Tyrone MacLean-Wilson has been using multi-media as a way to engage communities with the art of design and web access for the past 12 years. A graduate of the George Brown College Graphics Design program, he holds an advanced diploma in web and print design as well as video editing. Working as an audio and video editor in the Regent Park community, he also combinds all multi-media formats to help promote organziations, events, causes, small businesses and artists.
