New virtual tour of Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Winnipeg, MB—The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) has this week filmed a new guided virtual tour, which is now live online (link below). New instalments featuring other areas of the Museum are planned to be added in the days and weeks ahead. The virtual tour is designed as a way for people who are homebound during the COVID-19 pandemic to explore the Museum.

In this 25-minute video, follow a Museum guide through two galleries on the Museum’s second level – Indigenous Perspectives and Canadian Journeys. You’ll see the 360-degree “basket” theatre adorned with 13 Spirit Panels inspired by the visions of Indigenous youth, an 800-year-old moccasin print and the glowing alabaster rampways. You’ll join the guide on the “Lights of Inclusion” floor projection, then hear about Canadian human rights defender Viola Desmond at the exhibit devoted to her story.
