Toronto Standing Up for Standing Rock

The Standing Rock Sioux Nation has issued a global call to action amid brave Land and Water Protectors facing brutal and outrageous treatment for prayerfully protecting life giving waters.
Peaceful march starts at Queens Park and will make stops at TD, RBC and Scotiabank which are funding the pipeline and then head to the US Consulate.
Let us stand in solidarity at this historic time and remind corporations and the US government that the world is watching. Please bring signs, drums, noisemakers, banners and your peaceful active spirits.

Stories From the Land National Tour Live Show

Hosted by Ryan McMahon, this event is a live show for people to share stories from the land, from the community, for the people. Everyone is welcome. The Stories From the Land National Tour will be hosted in communities across Turtle Island this Fall with stops in Six Nations, Yellowknife, Whistler, Victoria, Regina, and Ottawa.
Finger Weaving Workshop

Facilitated by Carol James, world renowned artisan known for her finger weaving work. This Workshop is $130 per participant and includes Four 2-hour sessions and all project materials.
Unsettled: Indigenous Writers on Land and Love Panel

Panel discussion with powerful Indigenous writers, in part of the Naked Heart Festival, the largest and most diverse LGBTQ literary festival in the world. Dress the Red Fundraiser

Dress the Red is a fundraising event for Drag the Red, a non profit, volunteer run organization aimed at finding clues and potentially the bodies of the missing and murdered in Winnipeg, MB by dragging the Red River and its banks. Attendees are encouraged to wear red in recognition and remembrance of those who are missing and murdered with a focus on the Indigenous people of Winnipeg. Tickets are $20 and available for purchase upon donating at our youcaring.com page. 2nd Annual Indigenous & Ingenious Show and Sale

The two-day event will feature works by 18 contemporary Canadian Aboriginal artists, artisans, designers and writers. There will be paintings, beadwork, jewellery, leatherwork and more, as well as Aboriginal cuisine, drumming, and traditional storytelling. Artwork from Clayton Samuel King and Nancy King will be available for purchase. Admission is $5.00. Everyone is welcome.
Fall Feast: An anti-colonial evening of food, film and resistance
