Pink Sparkle | Daisy Ruiz

Daisy Ruiz is a freelance illustrator from the Bronx, New York. Recently graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA, Daisy’s work mainly consists of indigenous Mexican culture. It’s because of this that she is in La Raza Anthology: Unidos y Fuertes is a collection of works celebrating and analyzing experiences within cultures from Latin America (created by Kat Fajardo). Her contribution to the book consists of a portrait in oils of Lili Lucero who dances in Native regalia and a mixed media painting of the Mexica death Goddess Mictecacihuatl. Daisy’s goal is to explore her own native identity and reconnect with her roots through her art. You can see more of her work on her website draizys.com or on all social media @draizys.
