
The Pan Am/Parapan Am Games torch will be carried by 3,000 torchbearers as it makes its way to the opening ceremonies on July 10th. Cameron Sault will be one of the official torchbearers to represent the Host First Nation, Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. He will carry the torch in the community on June 19th, 2015. Band member Sault, 28, grew up on the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation He is an athlete (he plays with the Brantford Blast Senior AAA hockey club) and a youth work at Six Nations.
Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation’s second TO2015 torchbearer will be announced in May. The Host First Nation will also be incorporating the seven generations concept — we are responsible for seven generations into the future. The seven generations will be represented by Feather Carriers who will dress in traditional regalia and proudly carry the Eagle Feather alongside the torchbearers.
