Birds Flutter

When the snow coats the branches and ground
They think the hidden birds are leaves
Until the flicker of the wind reveals the concealed convocation
Gatherings and pow wows we rally
Raising resilience
Hibernating until the world is ready
A consciousness beyond survival
Fresh snow cloaks the flock and they walk past unaware

Hoopdancer

Share the dance
Pulsing and flying
Children cheer for you
For our animal relations
Celebrate
Dance with pride
Flashes of colour create an enigma
You are larger than life
The children of Turtle Island wait for their turn
We will all cheer
