The 4th annual Asinabka Festival will be taking place in Ottawa, Ontario, August 19-23, 2015. The Festival is currently seeking works from independent filmmakers, any film or video that tells First Nations, Métis, or Inuit stories, or focuses on international Indigenous issues, is eligible. Submissions can be in any genre (documentary, drama, animation, experimental etc.) or any length, and must be finished works. Preference will be given to new works produced within the last two years.
HOW TO SUBMIT
Format:
Film and video submissions must be on a DVD, a QuickTime or MP4 file, or an internet link to the works online location.
Application:
All submissions must include the following:
- A short bio of the artist, director, and/or producer
- A brief description of the work being submitted (no longer than 1 page).
- Your contact information, year of production, format, running time, language(s), province or country of origin, premiere status (i.e. has it premiered in Canada, a Canadian city, or internationally), and 3 still images from the submission (at least 300 DPI, .in JPG, .PNG or. TIFF format).
Email submissions are welcome. There is no submission fee.
2015 DEADLINE: Monday, May 15, 2015
*Submissions must be received or post-marked by this date to be considered for the 2015 Festival.
